About My Practice
Welcome!
Are you looking for a place where you can talk freely and confidentially about something that is bothering you? Where you can get help understanding distressing feelings and difficult situations that result from past, present, or anticipated future events? Or where you and your partner can learn to resolve conflict and communicate better to create a deeper and more meaningful relationship? You are in the right place and I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
I collaborate with clients to explore their concerns and struggles, build on their strengths, develop their inner resources, identify and achieve goals, and deal with unresolved issues from the past. It is important to me to establish a safe and supportive environment in which healing can occur. I work particularly well with individuals who have a deep commitment to self-awareness, personal growth, and healing. I take a holistic approach and am especially interested in therapy that integrates spiritual principles, psychological insight, and the wisdom of the body with a focus on empowering individuals.
To achieve a more holistic approach I work collaboratively with other practitioners such as psychiatrists, nutritionists, naturopaths, body workers, energy healers and others in healing arts.

About Me
I have been a professional in the mental health field since 1995 and have been in private practice since 1998. I am a licensed mental health counselor and I have enjoyed providing psychotherapy and counseling in the Hudson Valley for the past eight years. I currently have offices in New Paltz, NY, Poughkeepsie, NY, and in Manhattan working primarily with adults, couples, and groups.
I am experienced in dealing with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma recovery, grief and loss, life transitions, spirituality, and family of origin work. Different theoretical approaches have influenced me including Jungian, psychodynamic, transpersonal, gestalt, and cognitive areas of psychology as well as mindfulness meditation.
In addition to working in my private practice I also teach classes in psychology at various universities in the Hudson Valley.
