Biography

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic I am using Zoom video technology or telephone for sessions. The Zoom platform I use is easy to use and HIPAA compliant.

Crucial to my work is helping people to find what works for them. It's not always easy to figure out the best path in life or in therapy. If I can't be of optimal help, I always offer other resources. When I meet with new people, my focus is on establishing a partnership. I offer suggestions of alternative behaviors to try between sessions. In doing this my goal is not compliance with the suggestions, but awareness of the experience of either trying the new behavior or considering it and rejecting it. I am certified in Relational Life Therapy, an approach to couples' therapy founded by Terry Real (author of "I Don't Want to Talk About It" and "The New Rules of Marriage"). Areas of specialization: Couples Therapy, recovery from substance abuse and related Family issues, sexuality, gay and lesbian population, anxiety disorders.

The only insurance I accept is Medicare. For other insurances, out of network benefits would apply.
