Biography
Stress, trauma and thwarted attempts at love and connection often result in limiting beliefs and frustrating patterns. As inner and relational awareness grows and develops, clients are able to discover and reconnect with strengths and vital parts of themselves -- opening up new possibilities for healing, intimacy and meaning in life. Grounded in relational, family systems and psychodynamic theories, my holistic approach draws on contemporary insights, and decades of integrating the arts into education and other transformative work. When appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness and other artistic and experiential techniques -- restoring calm, wholeness and flexibility, engaging the imagination and enhancing self expression. I specialize in bringing compassionate curiosity to deep work with individuals, and to helping couples, families and all clients navigate relationship challenges and important thresholds of life: emerging adults, premarital, new parents, midlife, and changes in relationship status due to death, separation and divorce.
