Target Clients: Teen Girls 14-17

Group Description: 
This is an 8 week group series providing empowering support for your teen girls' health and wellbeing - body, mind, and spirit - during the amazing and challenging journey into adolescence and young womanhood. Using current models of child and adolescent development the focus of this group will be on cultivating positive body image and self esteem, building inner strength, improving emotional/physical/social health and wellbeing, explore authenticity and full expression through the creative arts,  foster solid supportive connections to female peers, learn stress management strategies, share in positive safe discussion regarding coming of age issues i.e. menstrual health, body changes etc., and in general to have a safe environment to share her inner hopes, dreams, and questions.and self respect.

Dance/movement therapy and other creative art concepts and activities will be at the core of this group as we strive for whole-self empowerment. Through a playful and safe atmosphere we will engage in a variety of integrated activities-including expressive dance, journal writing/drawing, beading, world circle dances, guided imagery, and nature based activities.

Through this group your daughter will:

  • Deepen strength and resilience
  • Develop improved body image
  • Explore authenticity and full expression through the creative arts
  • Foster solid supportive connections to her peers
  • Have a safe environment to share her inner hopes, dreams, and questions
  • Learn ancient and earth-based women's traditions to expand her awareness of herself as being connected to past, present, and future
  • Engage in positive exploration of coming age including menstrual health, body changes, puberty traditions from around the world, including the modern day red tent movement

When the Group Meets: Starts 2/10/24 then 2/17, 2/24, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30/24 from 10-12pm Register by 2/1/24. Must register for whole series.
